Freshman FAQs

Your timeslot will be a specific date and time that you will be allowed to access the Room (Room Search Wizard), Meal, and Confirmation Page within your application in the Housing Portal. Currently, you are not able to view these three steps. Once these steps are completed, your application will be complete.

Your timeslot will be based on the day and time you paid your $250 Housing Application fee. Those who paid earlier will have an earlier timeslot.

When your timeslot opens you will log in to MyLander - Housing Portal and complete the Room (Room Search Wizard), Meal and Confirmation Page.

If you pay your Application Fee after May 1, you will not receive a timeslot and the Room, Meal, and Confirmation Page will be available to you for assignment.
  • Review the different residence halls and their layouts to get a feel for what you like/don't like. After doing so communicate with your accepted roommates on where you want to live. Go ahead and agree on a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice. It's important to always have a back-up plan in case the residence hall you want is full and you have to select a different one.
  • Make sure that if there is someone you want to live with that you have them listed under 'Accepted Roommates' prior to your timeslot opening. You will only be able to find students in the Housing Portal who have paid $250 and who are also incoming freshman.
  • If you have accepted roommates find out which of you has the earliest timeslot once they are sent out. This person will have the capability to assign the rest of you and needs to know what your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choices are.
You will not be able to change your room once it has been selected. We will be opening up a Request to Move form for freshman closer to the start of school. We will notify you and e-mail you instructions closer to time.
