Located on the Lower Level of Jackson Library, the Computer Commons provides students with open access to technology resources in a centralized location.

The Computer Commons houses over 80 Windows-based PCs and an assortment of Apple Macintosh computers for use by Lander students. The Computer Commons is also home to  collaborative work areas, laptop workstations with readily available power and network access, scanning stations, color and black and white print release stations, the ITS Help Desk and TRACS – the Technology Resource Assistance Center for Students.

Our goal is to provide students with easy access to up-to-date technology resources to foster success in coursework, walk-in assistance for general technology questions through the ITS Help Desk, and one-on-one support for student-owned devices through TRACS. Please note that the Computer Commons is not intended to be a quiet zone.

Printing Resources

Lander University now offers “Follow Me Printing” so students can send documents from any campus computer to the appropriate print queue and collect those documents from any release station to the adjacent printer. Students can visit TRACS to configure their laptops to take advantage of “Follow Me Printing” from personal devices. Print release stations are available at several locations on campus including the Computer Commons, main level of Jackson Library, bottom floor of the Learning Center, Centennial Hall Lobby (resident access only), New Residence Hall Lobby (resident access only), and Chipley Hall Lobby (resident access only). For more information see the Printing Guide for Students (PDF).
