At Lander University, we make applying to college simple. Below is more information about Lander Admissions and the services we offer to help you complete your application, understand the process, and make a successful transition to the university.
All students are encouraged to apply for admission to Lander. Because student success depends in large part upon readiness, the university reserves admission to those students who can demonstrate adequate preparation for higher education either through appropriate GPA or through previous success at another postsecondary institution.
How to apply as a Freshman
- Create an account and complete the online application
- Submit your official high school transcript
- Submit your official SAT or ACT scores (test optional)
(SAT code: 5363 / ACT code: 3860) - Recommendations are accepted, but not required
- Lander accepts Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), Cambridge International, Seal of Biliteracy and Dual Enrollment credit. Please note that an official score report for AP or IB credit or a transcript from the college awarding dual enrollment credit must be submitted for credit. For more

For veterans/active military: Lander accepts American Council on Education (ACE), College Level Examination Program (CLEP) and DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSST) credits. - Official GED scores from testing center and GED Certificate (if applicable)
Freshman applicants will be evaluated on:
- High school course prerequisites (PDF)
- High school grade point average
- SAT and/or ACT test scores (test optional; required for Lander academic scholarships)
- GED scores (if applicable)
Freshman applicants will be evaluated on an individual basis on the above criteria. This criterion is used to determine the applicant's probability of success during their freshmen year.
