Graduate Assistantship Opportunities

Lander University offers a wide variety of graduate assistantship (GA) opportunities.

Graduate students awarded a GA work approximately 20 hours per week during the school year. In return, GA positions cover half of the regular tuition and required fees (for fall and spring) and provide a stipend of $3,000 per semester.

Students must first be admitted in a Lander University graduate program to be eligible to apply.

Applications for a graduate assistantship are completed through Handshake. You will receive instructions on how to apply for a GA position upon admittance to Lander University.

 

Academic Affairs

The EYE Program Graduate Assistant's primary responsibility would be to facilitate an extended marketing campaign to promote Lander's EYE Program with students, faculty and community business associations, such as the Piedmont Area Human Relations Association, Nonprofits, and the Small Business and Retail Council. This GA would create content for workshops and social media campaigns. This GA would also be required to work tabling events such as CommUniversity, and Open Houses. The EYE Program GA would also oversee the data entry process with IT to create a new vehicle for students to view their current EYE Program credit balance toward the Golden EYE award.

The Library Graduate Assistant at Lander University will support the University Archivist with special projects, preservation initiatives, and research services within Archives and Special Collections. Responsibilities include assisting with processing and describing archival collections; rehousing and preserving materials according to professional standards; supporting digitization projects; conducting historical and institutional research to respond to reference inquiries; and contributing to exhibits, outreach, and other special initiatives that promote the University’s history. This position provides hands-on experience in archival practices, preservation, and primary source research, with a schedule coordinated to align with the graduate assistant’s academic program and professional needs.

Athletics

The Acrobatics and Tumbling Graduate Assistant will assist the Head Coach in all day-to-day activities and operations of an NCATA Acrobatics and Tumbling Program. Duties include, but are not limited to, administrative support; practice planning/attendance; implementation of drills and techniques; recruiting both on and off campus; and any other tasks assigned by the head coach or athletic department. Candidates will gain experience in all aspects of collegiate coaching, including practice planning and implementation, facility scheduling, interacting with Sports Medicine/ Strength and Conditioning staff, and aiding young student athletes.
The Athletics Office Graduate Assistant will support the daily operations of the Athletic Department by assisting with administrative tasks and game day preparation. This GA will help coordinate home athletic events, including working with the Business Office on ticketing, deposits, and attendance records, as well as training and scheduling student workers. The GA will also assist with purchase and travel paperwork, maintain scanning and filing systems, distribute departmental mail, manage office supplies, and serve as a point of contact for office visitors. Additionally, the GA will coordinate with the PEES department on facility usage and utilize software such as Excel, Word, Adobe, and Teams to support departmental operations.

This Graduate assistant position will report directly to the Head Baseball Coach.  Requires a bachelor’s degree and experience in baseball.  This is a 20 hour a week position and hours will vary based on time needed in the office and on the field. The person must be admitted to Graduate School at Lander. 

The Lander University Cross Country and Track & Field program is seeking a qualified applicant as a graduate assistant coach. The graduate assistant will assist in all aspects of the program in a variety of duties and responsibilities. This will include but not be limited to: practice planning, travel planning, and recruiting. The candidate must be able to help with recruiting efforts on and off campus and adhere to all NCAA rules.

The Men’s & Women’s Golf Graduate Assistant will assist the Head coaches in all day-to-day activities and operations of an NCAA golf program. Duties include, but are not limited to, daily practice planning and attendance, running practice for players not travelling when head coaches are on the road, liaison with golf course staff for practice and qualifying schedules, handling recruits and their schedules while on visits, and any other tasks assigned by the coaching staff or athletic department.
Graduate Assistant for Broadcast and Video Services reports directly to the Director of marketing, production, and fan engagement and is responsible for producing high-quality video content to promote the name and brand of Lander Bearcat Athletics. Other duties include, but are not limited to managing live video stream production and some post-production content, creating or activating sponsorship elements within content or live streams, managing student production team for home games, collaborating with teams, coaches, and Sports Information department for regular, recurring content, as well as features highlighting the achievements of Lander student-athletes, maintaining the Lander Bearcat brand across production platforms, collaborating with other external departments and team members, including Marketing, Communications, Development, Corporate Sponsorship and Ticketing, on consistent branding and messaging. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree with two years of experience in sports video production; experience in social media strategy development and management; and experience in graphic design. Experience in Adobe Premier Pro, After Effects and Photoshop is strongly preferred. Knowledge of Production Truck software is a plus.
The Men’s Basketball Graduate Assistant will be under the direct supervision of the Head Men’s Basketball Coach. The Men’s Basketball Graduate Assistant will be responsible for administration in all phases of the program. This includes academics, recruiting, player-evaluation, practice planning and implementation, individual player development, assistance with travel, and other coaching duties or administrative duties as assigned.

Assist the Head Men’s Lacrosse coach in all day-to-day activities and operations of an NCAA division II men’s lacrosse program. Duties will include but are not limited to: daily practice attendance and position coaching, recruiting both on and off campus, game and practice planning, opponent scouting and film analysis, various administrative tasks assigned by the coaching staff, academic monitoring, field and equipment maintenance, supervising study hall and team lifts, and any other tasks assigned by the coaching staff or athletic department. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four year university and NCAA playing experience required.
  • Valid driver's license and a clear driving record required.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.

The Men’s Rugby Graduate Assistant will assist the Head Men’s Rugby Coach in all day-to-day activities and operations of an NCAA rugby program. Duties include, but are not limited to, daily practice attendance and position coaching; recruiting both on and off campus; game and practice planning; opponent scouting and film analysis; academic monitoring; field and equipment maintenance; supervising study hall and team lifts; and any other tasks assigned by the coaching staff or athletic department. 

The GA for men’s soccer position would include roles in most aspects of the program, including but not limited to: development & varsity teams practices and games, community service projects, general administration, equipment management, assisting with strength & conditioning, & travel planning.

The graduate assistant will assist the Sports Information Department with all varsity and club sports coverage. This individual will be responsible for comprehensive website management, which includes game stories, scores, statistics, rosters, schedules, and archival information.

In addition, the candidate will assist with social media and work special events. Additionally, the graduate assistant will serve as the primary contact and secondary contact for specific sports as assigned by the Sports Information Director.

Preferred qualifications for this position include prior experience in a Sports Information or Athletic Communication field, knowledge of Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), photography, and/or video editing experience. Strong communication, organizational, writing, and ability to work in a professional environment. Experience using statistical software such as Presto (preferred), NCAA Live Stats/ Genius, and/or Statcrew.

The Strength and Conditioning Graduate Assistant will be responsible for the development and implementation of comprehensive strength and conditioning programs for selected teams, as well as assisting full-time S&C staff if/when required. Candidates will gain experience in all aspects of collegiate S&C, including program design and implementation, interfacing with coaching and Sports Medicine staffs, and facility scheduling and maintenance.

The Lander University women’s volleyball program is seeking a qualified applicant as a graduate assistant coach. The graduate assistant will assist the head coach and assistant coach in a variety of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to fostering a highly competitive and positive team culture, assist with various responsibilities regarding the recruitment of prospective student-athletes, help to coordinate team travel, assist in the instruction and development of members of the women’s volleyball team, assist with practice and game preparation, direct film exchange efforts, and various duties related to community involvement. The successful candidate must have an understanding of the rules, strategies, and techniques related to the sport of volleyball. Most importantly, the graduate assistant will help support the mission, goals, and values of Lander University, the Athletic Department, and the women’s volleyball program. Previous collegiate playing and/or coaching experience is preferred.

The Woman’s Rugby Graduate Assistant will assist the Head Woman’s Rugby Coach in all day-to-day activities and operations of an NCAA rugby program. Duties include, but are not limited to, daily practice attendance and position coaching; recruiting both on and off campus; game and practice planning; opponent scouting and film analysis; academic monitoring; field and equipment maintenance; supervising study hall and team lifts; and any other tasks assigned by the coaching staff or athletic department.

The Women’s Basketball Graduate Assistant will support the coaching staff with daily program operations. Responsibilities include managing and growing the team’s social media presence, assisting with marketing and promotional efforts to increase attendance and community engagement, and creating video content for practices, game preparation, and recruiting. The GA will also assist with team travel arrangements, oversee equipment and nutrition distribution, support recruiting efforts through video review and graphics creation, maintain alumni relations for the program, and coordinate with visiting teams and Lander staff to assist with game day and facility needs.

The Women’s Lacrosse Graduate Assistant will assist the Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach in all day-to-day activities and operations of an NCAA division II women’s lacrosse program. Duties include, but are not limited to, daily practice attendance and position coaching; recruiting both on and off campus; game and practice planning; opponent scouting and film analysis; various administrative tasks assigned by the coaching staff; academic monitoring; field and equipment maintenance; supervising study hall and team lifts; and any other tasks assigned by the coaching staff or athletic department.

The Lander University Women’s Tennis Program is seeking a qualified applicant as a graduate assistant coach. The graduate assistant coach will assist in all aspects of the tennis program at Lander University. College playing experience is required. Knowing how to string is required. This position will report directly to the head women’s tennis coach. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist in recruiting future Bearcats, set up team travel arrangements; assist in the organizing and leading of team practices, team development, and on court conditioning. Additionally, the graduate assistant will travel with and assist in coaching at all tournaments and dual matches, string player rackets, help in alumni engagement and fundraising, and manage the Lander Women’s Tennis Social Media Account.
Assist and support the Head Men’s Wrestling Coach in all day-to-day activities and operations of an NCAA division II men’s Wrestling program. Duties include, but are not limited to, daily practice attendance and training with student-athletes; recruiting both on and off campus; match planning and preparation ; film review with student athletes; daily laundry duties as well as various administrative tasks assigned by the coaching staff; Other duties include - academic monitoring; wrestling room equipment maintenance; supervising study hall; and any other tasks assigned by the coaching staff or athletic department.

Colleges

The Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) position in the Applied Computing Department supports the department’s mission to foster student success in computing both inside and outside the classroom. GTAs may serve as the Instructor of Record for up to two computing labs or as a Grading Assistant for computing courses. In these roles, responsibilities include providing timely and constructive feedback on student work, maintaining regular office hours, facilitating advanced topical discussions, and mentoring students. GTAs also connect students with campus resources, engage in programmatic assessment, and contribute to curriculum development. Additional duties may be assigned based on departmental needs. This position is ideal for individuals with a passion for computing who want to make a direct, positive impact on students’ experiences. The GTA reports to the Chair of the Applied Computing Department, who provides ongoing professional and pedagogical development and training.

The Marketing & Social Media Graduate Assistant will support the College of Business & Technology by assisting with marketing campaigns and managing social media content to promote programs, events, and initiatives. This GA will create written and visual content for social media, newsletters, and the website, assist with promotional materials and basic graphic design, and help monitor engagement and marketing performance. The GA may also assist with event promotion and represent the college at recruitment and outreach events when needed.

The School of Business is seeking an Educational Support Graduate Assistant to provide academic support for undergraduate business courses. This position is designed to enhance student learning and success by offering supplemental assistance outside of regular class instruction.

The graduate assistant may provide a variety of support functions including holding supplemental office hours, offering tutoring for students in business courses, assisting with review sessions, and helping facilitate communication between students and faculty in high-enrollment courses.

The Educational Support Graduate Assistant should demonstrate strong proficiency in foundational business disciplines, including general business, economics, and professional development coursework. Strong communication skills and the ability to assist students in an online or virtual environment are preferred.

The School of Business is seeking a Research Support Graduate Assistant to assist faculty with research and scholarly activities. This position is designed to support faculty research productivity while providing the graduate assistant with experience in academic research and professional development.

The graduate assistant may provide a variety of research-related support functions including conducting literature reviews, collecting and organizing data, assisting with basic data analysis, preparing materials for research projects, and supporting the development of manuscripts, reports, or conference presentations.

The Research Support Graduate Assistant should demonstrate strong analytical, organizational, and written communication skills. Familiarity with business research methods, data analysis tools, or academic writing is preferred.

The Department of Media and Design is seeking a Graduate Assistant to provide operational and academic support for departmental media facilities and programs, including XLR Radio, the LUX Studio, and other departmental initiatives. This position supports student learning and creative production by assisting with media operations, project coordination, and facility management.

The graduate assistant may provide a variety of support functions including assisting with audio and video production activities, supporting student projects in media labs and studios, helping maintain production equipment and studio spaces, and assisting faculty and staff with departmental media initiatives. The assistant may also help coordinate studio usage, support live or recorded productions, and provide guidance to students using department facilities.

The Graduate Assistant should demonstrate proficiency in disciplines relevant to the Department of Media and Design, including audio production, video production, and/or graphic design. Strong organizational, technical, and communication skills are required, along with the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students in a creative production environment.

The graduate assistant will work closely with the Department of Teacher Education (DTE) and our Teaching Fellows/ Teacher Cadet programs. The position will have the following responsibilities: assist the Director of Teacher Cadet with outreach to Teacher Cadet classes; assist the Director of Teaching Fellows with outreach to high schools; coordinate events for Teacher Cadet, Teaching Fellows, and the Department of Teacher Education; work with the Dean of the College of Education on retention efforts, including data analysis to identify students at risk and support outreach efforts to encourage students to use academic support services, as well as other resources (faculty, etc.).

The Art Studio Graduate Assistant positions will support the Art Department’s chair and faculty with the following functions:

  • Assisting faculty in providing high-quality instruction and operations in both 2D and 3D studio areas;
  • Following all safety protocols as required by Departmental and University policies;
  • Assisting with special instructional events for the Department of Art;
  • Taking inventory of supplies and materials to assist with budget planning and use of course fees;
  • Responding to faculty members’ needs for assistance; and
  • Other duties as assigned as Chair, Dept. of Art.

  • Managing departments’ Blackboard organizations with Dept. Chairs;
  • Processing new student majors and minors with staff members;
  • Gathering data or updating records for reports as needed by the Dean or Associate Dean;
  • Assisting with correspondence as directed;
  • Assisting with publicity and planning needs for special events;
  • Taking inventory of supplies and helping staff with budget planning; and
  • Responding to faculty members’ needs for assistance.

Enrollment & Access Management

The Graduate Assistant for Admissions supports Lander University’s recruitment efforts by representing the university at events, delivering presentations, assisting with campus visits and admissions operations, and managing social media and marketing campaigns. This dynamic role combines recruitment, marketing, and digital engagement to connect with prospective students and showcase Lander University. Applicants must be able to work non-traditional/irregular hours as needed and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The Graduate Assistant for Career Services will focus on marketing and communications with the Office of Workforce and Career Development. The GA will assist with promoting, planning, and implementing career services events and programs to undergraduate and graduate students. The GA will assist with presenting and facilitating workshops that focus on career development and preparation. In addition, to assisting with special departmental projects.

Finance & Administration

Assist with daily operations of the Bearcat Shop. Duties include checking in merchandise (counting, folding, and labeling items), photographing merchandise for social media promotion, assisting with incoming book orders (labeling boxes and contacting students), helping students with course materials such as access codes, restocking merchandise, maintaining a list of low-stock items, and greeting and assisting customers.

The Technology and Administrative Support Assistant in the CIO’s Office provides support to the Office of Information Technology while gaining professional experience in higher education IT administration. Under the guidance of the CIO and/or designated staff, the graduate assistant helps with assigned tasks such as gathering information, assisting with small IT-related projects, tracking basic project updates, and supporting departmental initiatives. The role will also assist with the preparation of the IT newsletter by helping collect updates, draft content, and organize communications to the campus community. Additional responsibilities may include research, documentation, and other support activities that contribute to the effectiveness of the CIO’s office and the IT department.


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated knowledge and interest of common microcomputer applications, such as word processing and spreadsheet, multimedia tools, and the use of the Internet. Provide technology support to smart classrooms, labs and infrastructure resources as well as to serve as technical writer and documenter for IT communication rooms and technology spaces and classrooms; help install hardware and software as well as basic network equipment.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated knowledge and interest of common microcomputer applications, such as word processing and spreadsheet, multimedia tools, basic knowledge in networking and servers as well as the use of the Internet. The successful Graduate Assistant will gain very valuable hands-on experience working for a modern Information Technology Office while serving as team member.

The Graduate Assistant for Procurement Services will provide assistance by receiving and directing phone calls; fielding questions pertaining to procurement; assisting with the receipt and examination of purchase requisitions for accuracy; assisting the Procurement Buyer(s); maintaining the University Vendor File by receiving, verifying and inputting proper documents; and performing related duties as required.
The Student Accounts Customer Service Representative provides front-line customer service to the Student Account’s office; involving extensive in-person, telephone, and email contact with students, parents, and sponsors; providing accurate and timely information about student accounts charges and payments, payment plans, holds, refunds, outside scholarships, third-party payments, and 1098T tax forms. The position also requires filing and scanning of student account information as necessary. Be committed to assisting students and parents in a professional manner.

Marketing & Communications

The Communications and Social Media Graduate Assistant will provide assistance with communication development and strategy development for internal/external messaging as well as provide assistance with social media monitoring, response, and content development. Video/photo skills and being comfortable in front of the camera are a plus.

Office of Dean of Students

The Bear Necessities Food Pantry led by the chair of the Committee on Student Needs, the Food Insecurities Task Force, the Dean of Students Division, and the CARE and Advocacy office, seeks a graduate assistant to work 20 hours per week to manage the regular activities of the pantry. This includes managing the space while it is open to students (Wednesdays 3:30 pm-6:30 pm and Thursdays 10:00 am -1:00 pm) with extended hours as needed with advance notice and agreement. The GA will need to be present to receive regular deliveries including deliveries from the county food bank (every other Tuesday 1:00 pm-3:00 pm and other entities and donations as scheduled on a regular basis within the work hour commitment. Duties will include maintaining inventory counts and weights, writing weekly reports on the activities and status of the pantry, coordinating volunteers and interns. Promoting through tabling, social media activities, and writing reports including one major report per semester on activity in the pantry. The GA who fills this role will need to be creative, a highly motivated self-starter, willing and able to interact and speak with diverse student populations in promotion of the pantry, have strong organizational and interpersonal skills, able to be accountable, maintain confidentiality, be driven by compassion, and a desire to help their fellow students. They must also be able to regularly lift 50 pounds or more, and work with cold storage items.
CARE & Advocacy Department Graduate Assistant will work 20 hours a week to ensure the CARE intake processes for students is completed and cases are created in the database system. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: Maintaining the CARE and Advocacy Toiletry program, working with the Bear Necessities Food Pantry on a regular basis to include assisting with ordering and advertisements. Working as a team leader with the student workers in providing assistance to the CARE Chirps program, Condolence Card Program, work closely with the office coordinator to host tabling events and programs, participate in bi-weekly call campaigns to students of concern and students with a CARE history to help with fostering and maintaining their success; See Something, Say Something campaign: Create large flyers to post around campus to encourage the Lander community to report individuals of concern to the team for support. Regularly review web links and promotion materials for update needs. Serve as President of the student organization hosted by the office. Create, implement, and update a CARE-related commercial to broadcast in partnership with LUX; Work with Student Outreach Coordinator to maintain the CAREConnect; Student to Student Mentoring Program.

Under the supervision of the Department of Housing and Residence Life, the Graduate Hall Director will be primarily responsible for staff supervision, training, and evaluation of Resident Assistants. The Graduate Hall Director will serve as part of Housing and Residence Life’s on-call rotation, maintain a high level of visibility in our residential communities through interactions with residents, and support departmental residential living and learning initiatives while building an environment that promotes community, integrity, inclusion, and engagement.

Under the supervision of the Assignments Coordinator the Graduate Assistant for Housing Business Operations will participate in all aspects of room and meal assignments for current and prospective students. Maintain up-to-date and accurate records in both StarRez (Housing Database) and Banner as it relates to room assignments, meal plans and billing. Assist in managing the Request to Move process for our current residents and seeing them through the process. Uploading and scanning files, keys, sending out notifications, managing spreadsheets. Assist the Director of Housing with research and special projects as needed. 

The Graduate Assistant for Student Conduct will support the Office of Student Conduct in promoting accountability, community standards, and student development through the university’s conduct process. This position will assist professional staff with administrative and educational aspects of the conduct system while maintaining appropriate confidentiality and privacy standards.

The Graduate Assistant will help coordinate conduct-related processes and initiatives, including assisting with case management logistics, scheduling meetings and hearings, maintaining records, and supporting communication with students regarding the conduct process. They may assist with reviewing incident reports, preparing materials for conduct meetings, and helping track outcomes and educational sanctions as appropriate within established privacy guidelines.

Additional responsibilities include assisting with educational programming related to student conduct, community standards, and responsible decision-making, as well as supporting office operations and projects that promote student learning and accountability. The Graduate Assistant will gain experience in student conduct administration, policy implementation, and student development practices within a higher education setting.

Student Experience & Quality Assurance

The Graduate Assistant for the Campus Activities Board (CAB) will support the development, planning, and execution of campus-wide programming designed to enhance student engagement and campus life. This role will provide direct advising and mentorship to members of the Campus Activities Board, helping student leaders plan, coordinate, and implement a variety of events and initiatives throughout the academic year.

The Graduate Assistant will assist CAB in the event planning process, including idea development, logistics coordination, marketing collaboration, and post-event evaluation. They will also help ensure events are executed effectively by supporting event setup, implementation, and breakdown, while working closely with campus partners to ensure programs are safe, engaging, and well-attended.

Additional responsibilities include supporting leadership development within CAB, assisting with budget awareness and planning, and helping maintain consistent communication between CAB, the Office of Campus Engagement, and other campus departments.

The Graduate Assistant will play an important role in strengthening student involvement and creating meaningful co-curricular experiences for the campus community.

The Graduate Assistant for Campus Engagement will support the Office of Campus Engagement in enhancing the overall student experience through campus-wide programming, initiatives, and engagement opportunities. This position will assist professional staff with the planning, coordination, and execution of events and programs that contribute to a vibrant and connected campus community.

The Graduate Assistant will help with a variety of operational and programmatic needs within the office, including event planning, logistics coordination, and event setup and breakdown for major campus traditions, programs, and engagement initiatives throughout the academic year. They will assist with the day-to-day functions of the office, provide support during large-scale campus events, and help ensure programs run smoothly and effectively.

Additional responsibilities include assisting with marketing and outreach efforts, supporting student engagement initiatives, coordinating event logistics, and collaborating with campus partners to implement programs that promote involvement and campus spirit. This role provides hands-on experience in campus programming, event management, and student engagement within a dynamic higher education environment.

The Graduate Assistant for Fraternity and Sorority Life will support the continued growth and development of the fraternity and sorority community by mentoring student leaders, advising councils and chapters, and assisting with the planning and execution of key departmental initiatives and events. This role will place a primary focus on supporting the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) community through intentional relationship building, program development, and initiatives that strengthen visibility, engagement, and chapter success.

The Graduate Assistant will assist with the coordination and implementation of structured recruitment processes, support leadership development efforts across councils, and collaborate with the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life to enhance community standards and member experiences. Additional responsibilities include assisting with event logistics such as planning, setup, and cleanup, supporting major programs and traditions within the fraternity and sorority community, and helping maintain effective communication with student leaders.

An understanding of fraternities, sororities, and community development as well as membership in a social fraternity or sorority is not required but is preferred.

GA’s will oversee daily operations of Campus Recreation which includes, but is not limited to; creating marketing materials, social media management, student worker training, business operations, facilities management, and other duties as assigned.

The Graduate Assistant reports to the Director of Campus Recreation and Intramural Sports. The Graduate Assistant for Facility Operations supports the daily management and supervision of the Campus Recreation facilities, including the fitness center, multi-court gymnasium, and Outdoor Pool & Pavilion. This position plays a key role in facility oversight, student staff development, risk management, event operations, and customer service. The GA will gain hands-on experience in collegiate recreation leadership, facility management, and operational strategy.

A focus on positive customer service and student development is expected in all aspects of the Intramural Sports program.

The GA will gain hands-on experience in sports marketing, collegiate recreation branding, and audience analytics.

The GTA position for the LINK Program works directly in alignment with the program’s mission and purpose to support first-year student success both inside and outside the classroom. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, being an Instructor of Record for a maximum of four LINK 101 sections each Fall semester, Instructor of Record for a minimum of one LINK 101 section and one CSEM 101 section each Spring semester, providing timely and helpful feedback on student work, maintaining regular office hours, facilitating high level topical discussions, mentoring and connecting students to appropriate resources on campus, working closely with paired PLs to bolster student engagement in on-campus events, engaging in programmatic assessment, development of curriculum, implementation of community workshops, active participation in conducting research to continue strengthening the LINK Program, and other duties as assigned during the Spring semester of the contract. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with the student accommodation process; coordinating and scheduling specialized services for students (e.g., ASL interpreters, braille or alternate format materials); obtaining ATI test proctoring certification; and assisting with the administration and proctoring of exams. This position requires availability to assist with one university Open House event (held on a Saturday) each semester. The GA will also be cross trained in other Graduate Assistant roles within the division to provide support across departments as needed. The Academic Alert Graduate Assistant will assist with coordination and outreach to students who have academic alerts to connect students with the appropriate academic and support resources on campus. This graduate assistant will also communicate with faculty occasionally to send updates about students. This role will also be cross trained with other campus partners within the Division of Student Experience and Quality Assurance.
The Graduate Assistant for Academic Success and Advising Support will assist the Student Success Advisors and the Academic Transfer Coordinator with duties such as targeted communication plans, advising preparation, student outreach, at-risk students, marketing, and events. This role will also be cross trained with other campus partners within the Division of Student Experience and Quality Assurance.
The Office Operations and Student Support Graduate Assistant will provide support to the Student Success Center for office assistance. The Graduate Assistant will report to the Student Success and Intervention Coordinator on managing the scheduling of tutoring and academic coaching sessions. Responsibilities may include tracking and assisting with program assessments, supporting the training and supervision of student tutors, evaluating tutor performance, and updating WC Online and Banner systems. This role will also be cross trained with other campus partners within the Division of Student Experience and Quality Assurance.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Meet with students to determine how the student experience is affecting their journey, work with students on study skills, time management, classes which are causing issue, maintain records of students who attend workshops and programs; Assist in planning and execution of workshops and events,  attend evening events as time permits, Assist in developing and implementing plans to provide programs to elevate the student experience;  Assist with developing programs, events, and activities for the Division of Student Experience;  Understand the Division’s vision, mission, and goals; Work toward student’s realization of what the college experience entails; Collaborate with Division staff on continuous improvement; Regularly communicate with the overall Division about projects, events, responsibilities, and concerns; Act as a resource for students to learn about specific functions/events/programs.
