Financial Aid Next Steps

Congratulations on your acceptance to Lander University! Please make sure to review all the areas listed below to avoid delays with your financial aid. Click on each step for detailed instructions.

 

Step 1: Accept or Decline Your Aid

  • Log in to MyLander Portal
    First Time MyLander Users: Please watch the “First Time Sign In “ video here.
  • Navigating MyLander
    • On either the Student Highlights “card” or the Admit Financial Aid “card” Click on Financial Aid
    • At the top, select Aid Year: 2026-2027
    • Click on Offer and scroll to see your aid offered

  • To accept or decline offers
    • Select the Take Action drop-down.
    • Accept or Decline the full award amount by selecting “Accept” or “Decline”
    • Accept a partial amount by selecting “Modify” and entering the amount you wish to accept

Step 2: Complete Requirements

Log in to MyLander Portal

  • At the top, select Aid Year: 2026-2027
  • Click on the link for each requirement to complete

Step 3: Submit Outside Scholarship Checks

Please have all outside scholarship checks mailed to:

Step 4: Apply for Lander Departmental Scholarships

  • Using your Lander credentials, log in to Academic Works.
  • Complete (1) general application and the system will then send your name to the department for any scholarships that you qualify for.
  • Departments will then make their selections based on specific criteria for each scholarship.
  • Students will be notified via email if you have been awarded a departmental scholarship. The email will instruct you to complete the acceptance and post acceptance.

Step 5: Student Loans

Federal Direct Loans - If you are accepting a Federal Direct Subsidized or Unsubsidized Student Loan for the first time, you will need to complete the Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Loan Entrance Counseling. More information can be found at Lander | Federal Direct Loan.

SC Teachers Loan Program - Residents of South Carolina who are planning to enter the teaching profession in the South Carolina public school system and who are seeking their first certification may apply for this program. More information can be found at Lander | SC Teachers Loan Program.

If you have not committed to Lander, complete the commit form here I am ready to be a Bearcat. You will then receive instructions to start the housing application process.
