Lander University’s Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education–Social Studies prepares future educators to help students understand the people, events, ideas and institutions that have shaped our world. By combining a strong foundation in history, geography, economics, government and sociology with extensive classroom experience, the program develops knowledgeable, reflective and engaging teachers ready to inspire the next generation of informed citizens.
Housed within Lander’s College of Education, the program integrates content expertise with modern teaching practices, ensuring graduates are equipped to teach complex social studies concepts in ways that encourage critical thinking, civic responsibility, cultural understanding and informed decision-making.
