Faculty can schedule in class visits or tours of the Writing Center. During an in-class visit, Brittany Cuenin or one of her tutors will briefly visit your class to explain the resources the Writing Center has to offer and demonstrate to students where these resources can be found online. You may also schedule a tour of the Writing Center, in which you will lead your class to the Writing Center where they will be greeted by Brittany Cuenin or one of her tutors.

If you’d like to schedule a class visit or Writing Center tour, please contact for availability.

In-Class Workshops

Brittany Cuenin and/or her tutors will work with faculty to create or lead 15-30 minute In-Class Workshops that address the specific needs of your students. These include but are not limited to workshops for: citation styles, developing a thesis, the writing process, common grammar mistakes, and more.

Yes. The Writing Center is a free resource available to all students. The Writing Center can be visited as often as you need and at any point during your academic career at Lander. It is never too late to start using this resource to improve your writing skills.

To ensure our tutors can meet your needs at your desired time, appointments are highly recommended. Scheduling an appointment guarantees that you will receive the help you need at your convenience. However, our tutors will take walk-in's if they have no scheduled appointments. If you walk in and no tutors can assist you, they will direct you to make an appointment online for a time that works for both of you.

To make an appointment with the Writing Center go to and follow the login prompts on the left side of the screen. Use your school email address and password. When you’ve logged in, select “Writing Center” from the drop-down menu at the top of the screen. Select any open time slot (the white squares) during a convenient time for you with the tutor of your choice (even though not all our tutors share your degree or major, they are all well trained and equipped to handle any writing problems or concerns you may have). A separate webpage titled “Create New Appointment” will pop up. Make sure to fill this screen out as fully as possible. Click “create appointment” at the bottom of the screen. The system will inform you that you have successfully created an appointment and you can close the pop-up. You’re all set and we’ll see you soon!

If you have issues logging in to the system, please contact ITS.

When you’ve successfully created an appointment, your time slot will turn yellow. Click on the yellow box. This will reopen your appointment page. Simply scroll to the bottom and click the red “Cancel Appointment” box at the bottom of the screen. The system will inform you that you have successfully cancelled your appointment and you can close the pop-up.

To reschedule an appointment, cancel your original appointment first. Then make a new appointment at your desired time and with your preferred tutor. If you’d like more specific information, please read the “How do I make an appointment” tab above.

To prepare for your appointment at the Writing Center, make sure to bring your work (either a hard copy or on a laptop) and the assignment with you. Be ready to explain what you would like to work on during your session. Though it’s not required, it may be useful to bring something to take notes on (either pen & paper or your laptop).
The Writing Center is prepared to help you at any point in the writing process. Whether it’s brainstorming ideas, writing a thesis, formatting and organizing, polishing your final draft, or anything in between, our tutors will help give you the tools you need to be a successful writer. For the best experience, we suggest bringing your work in as early as possible so that you have time to schedule additional appointments if you need them. However, it’s never too late to get a second set of eyes on your assignment.
