Lander’s Tuition Assistance Program is an employee benefit that allows qualifying Lander University employees to take up to 6-credit hours per academic term for free. The Tuition Assistance Program covers tuition and general fees; employees are responsible for books, required course materials, and any individual course fees associated with their program of study.

General Eligibility:

  1. Be employed in an FTE (slotted) position (at least 30-hours per week);
  2. Have successfully completed at least six (6) months of state service;
  3. Have been admitted to Lander University through the Office of Admissions.

*Certain restrictions and requirements apply. Details can be found on the application form by clicking here and in the Lander University Tuition Assistance policy by clicking here.

How to Apply:

  1. Get approval from your supervisor. The course taken may not interfere with the number of work hours per week.
  2. Complete application for admission to Lander University.
  3. Register for classes. Please contact the Office of the Registrar for assistance.
  4. Complete the Tuition Assistance Application with the appropriate signatures and return to the Office of Human Resources prior to the beginning of the semester in which the course will be taken.

Final approval of the Tuition Assistance Program application does not guarantee admission as a student to Lander University, nor does it register or enroll a participant in the requested course.  Employees are individually responsible for applying for admission to the university and for receiving academic advisement.
