Professional Dress/Clothing Closet

The Office of Workforce and Career Development offers a free Professional Clothing Closet for all students. The closet is open for walk-ins Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., and is located in the Grier Student Center, Suite 300. Students may access professional attire for interviews, career events, or other professional needs.

Mock Interviewing

Mock interviews provide students with a low-pressure opportunity to practice their interviewing skills, build confidence, and receive constructive feedback before meeting with employers or graduate programs. Through one-on-one mock interview sessions, students can refine their responses, improve professional communication, and gain insight into employer expectations. Our career staff offer tailored feedback on content, delivery, and overall presentation to help students feel prepared and confident for real interview experiences.

Interview Follow-Up - Thank You Letters

You should send a letter within 24-48 hours after an interview. The purpose of the letter is to:

Show your appreciation for the employer interviewing you
Remind the employer of your qualifications and any key points from your interview
Express your interest in the position and in the organization
Follow up with any additional information requested by the employer

Thank you letters can be handwritten or emailed. Handwritten letters are more formal. It shows the employer that you made the effort and took the extra time to write a letter.

Emailing a letter is appropriate when you want the employer to receive it quickly. For example, you may want to send an email if the employer plans to have a final decision made within 24 hours. Emailing a letter may also be appropriate if an employer spends a great deal of time out of the office.
