Outdoor Pool

Spring 2024 Soft Opening

Lander University is bringing to campus an outdoor, multipurpose space for students’ recreational and academic use.

The new facility, which replaces the Sproles Recreation Center built in 1952, is designed to enhance the student experience at the university and will include a covered pavilion. An outdoor pool at the heart of the structure will feature seating near the water, in the shade and on the nearby grassy terrace.

For Spring 2024, the pool will be open for limited use April 1-26 from 1-7 p.m., weather permitting. Closing notifications will be posted to Instagram at @landercampusrec.

Pool Phase II

Pool Phase II, coming this summer, will add new features including the 20x40 event pavilion, as well as more patio space, lighting, landscaping, and seating.
