Lander University’s Wind Ensemble to Perform

Lander University invites the Greenwood and Lander communities to join the Lander University Wind Ensemble for the first performance of the 2026-2027 academic year Tuesday, Oct. 6. The program is free and open to the public and will begin at 7 p.m. at the Abney Cultural Center Auditorium.  

The Lander University Wind Ensemble is the premier instrumental concert ensemble at Lander University. The group is under the direction of Dr. Reed Gallo, chair of the Music Department. He is also the director of bands and professor of trumpet. Gallo studied with Ron Romm, a founding member of the Canadian Brass, and many top orchestra performers. He has performed on solo tours in Europe, including the Kmoch Festival in Prague, and Southeast Asia.  

The theme of this performance is “Marches and Processionals,” which includes compositions such as the March and Procession of Bacchus, the Funeral March of a Marionette, and Elsa’s Procession to the Cathedral.
