When the South Carolina General Assembly held elections for college and university boards of trustees Wednesday, April 15, members re-elected two individuals to the Lander University Board of Trustees and elected one new member.
The University has welcomed Shawn Foxworth ’97, of Inman to the seat for South Carolina’s fifth congressional district. Meanwhile, Anne Walker ’72, of Sumter, and Kathy Taylor ’95, of Union, are returning board members.
About Lander’s Newest Board Member
Shawn Foxworth is a 1997 graduate of Lander University, having earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Lander, and has worked in various manufacturing leadership roles in his 29-year career, including as operations manager, supply chain manager and plant manager. Throughout his career, he has worked for several well-known companies, including Milliken, Schaeffler Group, Circor International, Crane Co. and Trelleborg. Foxworth currently serves as supply chain director for Trelleborg, overseeing all procurement, logistics, customer service, planning and scheduling activities.
In addition to his education at Lander, Foxworth earned his Master of Business Administration from North Greenville University. His wife, Kaye, and his daughter, Molly, are also Lander alumni. Foxworth has been consistently involved with Lander since graduating, serving on the Lander Alumni Association Board of Directors and The Lander Foundation Board.
“Serving a university that has played such an important role in my life and in my family’s story is truly special to me,” Foxworth said. “I am grateful for the opportunity and look forward to partnering with my fellow board members and Lander’s faculty and staff to further the University’s mission.”
