Lander University and Trident Technical College (TTC) have announced a new transfer partnership for students who are looking to advance their education in paralegal studies.
The articulation agreement will allow TTC students to easily transfer their credits into the bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies Program at Lander, entering as juniors in Lander’s College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences. Students who meet the requirements of the degree program will be guaranteed admission to Lander and will receive priority acceptance.
Dr. Jim Colbert, provost and vice president for academic affairs at Lander, said the agreement represents the important role the University has in providing enriching educational programs that enhance South Carolina’s workforce.
“Articulation agreements like the one we share with Trident Technical College create a seamless pathway for students to continue their education without losing momentum,” Colbert said.
“By aligning our programs, we make it easier for students to transfer and complete their degrees and strengthen their preparation for the workforce. This partnership expands students’ educational opportunities by allowing them to build on the strong foundation which they have received at Trident Technical College. They will enhance their studies at Lander and graduate with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in today’s competitive job market.”
Professor David DiMatteo, program director for the B.S. in Paralegal Studies, said earning a bachelor's degree in paralegal studies is an excellent option for anyone planning a career in the legal field.
“Blending critical thinking, research and communication skills with hands-on experience, paralegal programs prepare graduates to play an essential role in law firms, businesses and nonprofit or government agencies. We are pleased to be able to offer this opportunity for students at Trident Technical College,” DiMatteo said.
“As the demand for skilled professionals in the legal field continues to evolve, paralegal studies remains an accessible pathway for students seeking meaningful, stable careers,” DiMatteo said.
