Lander Orientation Is Jump Start to College Life

With Lander University’s fall semester just weeks away, the campus has been buzzing with excitement this summer as more than 1,200 incoming students and their families joined us for our first three orientation sessions.

From meeting new friends and exploring campus to learning about academic programs and student life, our newest Bearcats have a head start on making Lander their home away from home. Each session offered students the chance to connect with future classmates, get a taste of Bearcat spirit and prepare for a successful transition this fall.

“Orientation at Lander University is a foundational experience that fosters a sense of belonging for both students and their families,” said Dr. Amanda Darden, vice president for student experience and quality assurance. “From navigating our campus, to understanding academic expectations and connecting with classmates, our objective is for students to leave orientation with the right resources to conquer their first day of classes and their first semester of college. We encourage students to embrace their college journeys and take advantage of the opportunities presented to them that will enhance their college experiences.”

With two orientation sessions to come in July, there's still time for incoming students to join the fun and get a jump on their college journey. Check out our gallery of photos capturing all the smiles, energy and memorable moments so far.

We can’t wait to welcome even more Bearcats to the Lander family!
