Lander University student Annika Seifart, right, talks about her research with Andrew Schwendemann, assistant professor of biology, during the annual Academic Symposium at Lander. The symposium gives students the opportunity to present their research to classmates, faculty, staff and the community. Hannah Owens, an interdisciplinary studies major with emphases in graphic design and marketing who was a panelist during symposium week said the symposium gives students room for creativity while providing experience and practice in public speaking. She also said the symposium allowed her to learn from other panelists, presenting a chance for deeper thought and conversation.
