MAT_graphic.jpgThe community is invited to join the Department of Art + Design at Lander University for a reception with student artists featured in the 2024 MAT Art Exhibit Thursday, March 14 at 5 p.m. Titled “Visions Unveiled,” the exhibit will be on display beginning Tuesday, March 12, through Wednesday, March 20. The reception, and visits to the gallery, are free and open to the public.

In the final semester of the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program at Lander, students showcase their own graduate creative work as well as artwork from the students they teach. Opening March 12, “Visions Unveiled” will include photography, painting and fiber work from MAT candidates Erin Anderson, Jessica Duran, Kennedy Henjes and MacKenzie Kirkland.

The MAT program at Lander University is a graduate degree program with a focus in art education. This degree is designed for the practical preparation of qualified individuals seeking initial K-12 certification in art. MAT graduates are certified to teach K-12 in South Carolina schools.
