Dr. Melissa Hayes, assistant professor of biology at Lander, stresses the importance of creating a personable online presence for students when teaching virtually during Lander University's recent virtual learning seminar for faculty members at Greenwood County School District 50. The event was a partnership between Greenwood 50 and Lander University's Center for Online and Innovative Learning. Lander played host to over 20 teachers from Greenwood 50, all of different grade levels and academic disciplines, who heard in-depth presentations from Hayes and other Lander faculty members who have had great success with online teaching.
