Lander University to Host Greenwood City Council Meeting

The city council will hold its regular meeting for the month of February on the campus of Lander University.

The meeting will take place on Monday, February 25, at 5:30 p.m. in room 300 of the Carnell Learning Center. In addition to council's regular business matters, City Manager Julie Wilkie-a graduate of Lander's political science program-and members of council have also agreed to hold a question-and-answer session with Lander students upon adjournment.

This event is part of Lander's "Achieving the Promise" series, sponsored by a grant from South Carolina Humanities. City council meetings are normally held at Greenwood City Hall (520 Monument St.) on the third Monday of each month. The change in location for council's February meeting aims to afford Lander's campus community the opportunity to engage with the city's elected officials, as well as showcase the strong partnership between Lander and the City of Greenwood.
