For the eight consecutive year, Lander University served as the host site for the South Carolina Bankers Association Bankers School. This year, 168 employees from banks throughout the state attended the five-day school July 10-15.

Designed for junior and middle management officers and administrators from commercial banks and savings institutions, the intensive three-year school focuses on various aspects of the banking industry while preparing participants for career advancement. Third-year students take part in BankExec, a bank simulation program in which teams work together on the operating, lending and pricing decisions for eight fiscal quarters that influence bank profitability and bank stock prices.

"We have an excellent relationship with Lander, and are thankful for our partnership," said Scott Frierson, executive vice president of Cres Com Bank in Greenville, and chair of the 2018 Bankers School.
