Following a week-long celebration of lively competitions and activities, the student body at Lander University has chosen a new Homecoming King and Queen. The pair were crowned during ceremonies held at halftimes of the Lander men's and women's Homecoming Day basketball games against Columbus State.

Senior business major Noah Hayes, of Pickens, was named 2018 Homecoming King. Savannah Jo Reinhardt, of Greenwood, captured the crown as Homecoming Queen. Reinhardt is a senior majoring in nursing. Both were sponsored by Zeta Tau Alpha.

First runner-ups were Hannah Whaley, of Columbia, a senior majoring in political science; and William Jamison, of Irmo, a junior majoring in elementary education.

The excitement on Saturday (Feb. 10) wrapped up a week of Homecoming celebrations for students and alumni, including a soapbox race, human cannonball, field day games, reunion socials and tailgating.
