Lander University student Jeremiah Grooms, of Greenwood, has earned the Walter Lanier Gorham Criminal Justice Scholarship for the 2017-18 academic year; and inducted into Alpha Kappa Delta, the national sociology honor society, and Alpha Phi Sigma, the national criminal justice honor society.
The scholarship is presented by Lander's Department of Government, Criminology & Sociology and the Department of Psychological Science to a student majoring in criminal justice. Among the qualifications for student membership in Alpha Kappa Delta are maintaining at least a 3.0 grade point average and a ranking in the top 35 percent of the class. Admission into Alpha Phi Sigma is reserved for criminal justice majors who maintain a high grade point average.
