Lander Students Named to 2015 Who's Who

The names of 12 Lander University students will be included in the 2015 edition of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. The students are from nine South Carolina counties and one from North Carolina. They were recognized as outstanding campus leaders, based on their academic achievements, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.

In receiving the recognition, they join an elite group of students from more than 1,000 institutions of higher education in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Lander students named this year and their majors are: Emily Craft, of West Columbia, early childhood education; Megan D'Angelo, of Murrells Inlet, visual arts with a graphic design concentration; Aryn Sexton Gilstrap, of Anderson, exercise science; Tyler Griffin, of Simpsonville, history; Tia McFadden, of Florence, early childhood education; Mary Katherine McGowan, of Hodges, history; and Kaitlin Stowe, of Gaston, mass communication and theatre.

Other Lander students selected were Mary-Katherine Tipp, of Charlotte, N.C., history with secondary certification; Cody Teeter, of Greenwood, business administration with an accounting emphasis; Caroline Tolleson, of Easley, elementary education; Stephanie Whitmire, of Greenwood, psychology; and Haley Wilson, of Joanna, early childhood education.

Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges was founded in 1934 and is recognized as one of the most highly regarded honors programs for students in higher education.
