Youngsters who attended the Duke Energy's Summer Institute at Lander University on July 1 were treated to more than an introduction to different areas of physics. They also heard from Dr. Kerry Hansknecht, right, on the subject of snakes. After his lecture, Hansknecht, an assistant professor of biology and a herpetologist, took the students on a tour of his laboratory where he showed them his collection of snakes and allowed those who were interested to hold a few of the reptiles.
