Process Continues in Presidential Search

The Search Committee, which is looking for Lander University's next president, has taken another step in the process by approving and publishing a position description.

The new president will succeed Dr. Daniel Ball, who will retire on June 30 of next year after serving for 15 years as Lander's chief executive officer.

George Starnes, vice chair of the university's Board of Trustees, chairs the Search Committee. He said committee members had met with representatives of Coleman Lew + Associates, the executive search firm from Charlotte, N.C., that has been engaged to assist with the search and, together, they drafted and approved the position description.

The narrative specifying the functions of the Lander president's job, and qualifications for applicants to be considered is available here.

Starnes said the Search Committee will narrow down the list of applicants and present the final candidates for the job to the Board of Trustees, which will appoint Ball's successor.
