Lander University recently hosted upstate members of the South Carolina Student Legislature (SCSL) for the first time ever. The mock legislative session gave area SCSL members an opportunity to hear proposed bills and prepare for the full student legislative session next week, in Columbia, which will be attended by SCSL members from all over the state. Several South Carolina laws, including the law that allows drivers to turn right on red, began as student legislation.
