Lander University Students Earn Who's Who Recognition

The names of 14 Lander University students will be included in the 2013 edition of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, one of the most highly regarded and long-standing honors programs in the nation.

The students, who are from 12 South Carolina counties and one from Georgia, were recognized as outstanding campus leaders, based on their academic achievements, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.

They join an elite group of students from more than 2,900 institutions of higher education in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Lander students named this year and their majors are: Teraya Dingle, of Beaufort, early childhood education; Erin Garland, of Seneca, business administration-health care management; Lindsay Blanton, of Gaston, Ryan Hewitt, of Florence, Melanie McCrea, of Andrews, and Sharae Walker, of Anderson, mass communication and theatre; Brooke Montgomery, of Gaffney, environmental science; and Kara Murrell, of Pickens, exercise science.

Other Lander students selected were Kandice Bryant, of Honea Path, Janza Walker, of Inman, Michael Rousey, of Laurens, Rhett Sapough, of Clarkesville, Ga., and Meagan Smalls, of Huger, business administration-accounting; and Rayshawn Trapp, of Blair, elementary education.
