Junior mass communication major Kaitlin Stowe, of Gaston, the reigning Miss Lander University, and Pasha Franklin, of Columbia, Miss Lander University of 2010, will be among those competing for the crown.
Franklin, a mass communication major who graduated from Lander in 2012, qualified for this year's pageant by virtue of being named Miss Greenville Scottish Games 2013.
Two contestants in the Miss South Carolina Teen Pageant have Lander ties, too.
Katie Laken Weeks, the reigning Miss Columbia Teen, is the daughter of 1992 Lander graduate Nancy Cowart Weeks; and Heather Madden, of Simpsonville, who qualified for the state pageant by winning this year's Miss Greenville Scottish Games Teen Pageant, is the daughter of 1990 Lander graduate Kim Madden and 1991 Lander graduate Jeff Madden.
This year's Miss South Carolina and Miss South Carolina Teen will be crowned Saturday, July 13, at the Township Auditorium in Columbia.
