Germany's Honorary Consul to S.C. to Deliver Lander Commencement Address

Wolf StrombergWolf Stromberg, the Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany, will deliver the commencement address at Lander University's graduation ceremony, Saturday, Dec. 15, at 11 a.m., in the university's Finis Horne Arena. The graduating class will number 147 students.

In the diplomatic role he has held since 2005, Stromberg helps promote relations between the United States and Germany, and assists German and American citizens with some legal and consular issues related to Germany.

He earned his academic credentials in his native Germany and in the U.S. He was an exchange student for one year and received a diploma from a high school in Kalamazoo, Mich. Then, after service as a military communications officer in Germany, he was a Fulbright Scholar in management and marketing logistics at Western Michigan University. In 1979, he graduated from the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany, where he majored in mechanical engineering and business administration with a minor in economics and law.

As a businessman, he has held executive positions with Flender Corp., a leading manufacturer of gear systems, and later was the president and chief executive officer of Kleinewefers Textile Machinery Corp. (KTMC)

Since 2002, he has been president and partner of Triad Sales in Greenville. Triad represents several German companies for sales and service of plastics machinery, and provides consulting and management services to the plastics, rubber and nonwoven industries.

Stromberg received the President's E Award for Exports for KTMC. He was named Ambassador for Economic Development for South Carolina and appointed to the Executive Advisory Council of the University of South Carolina. Over the years, he has also formed strategic alliances with other manufacturers.
