The scholarship was established in 1997 in honor of Dunlap, who served as president of The Lander Foundation from 1993-1996. A member of numerous civic, health care and church organizations, Dunlap served as president and CEO of Countybank and chairman of the bank board of directors. The Dunlap scholarship is awarded to Greenwood County residents majoring in business administration, and recipients are selected based on criteria including character, academic record and recommendation by high school or college teachers. Shawaunna Middleton, of Johns Island, has been selected to receive the Eaton Business Scholarship. Established and endowed in 2005 by a gift from Eaton Corporation, the scholarship is awarded to business majors based on merit.
