Lander University values travel as education because it allows students to have the chance to appreciate other cultures, art, history and the chance to travel the world.
However, the University doesn’t limit students to traveling to other countries (the traditional study abroad experience). It also encourages students to take up the chance to explore the national treasures in their own back yard – or maybe a bit further.
This May, a study tour co-led by two English professors, Dr. Sean Barnette and Graham Duncan, journeyed to the Grand Canyon, Death Valley and Zion National Parks, among other stunning hiking trails as a part of their “Rhetorical Recreation” study tour. The study tour consisted of seven students and two professors, and while this is new for the students, it wasn’t for the professors.
