Lander Film Festival - Screenwriting
Shelley Reid and Grainger Hines will discuss their Western film, Long Shadows.
Two local veterans of the film industry, Shelley Reid and Grainger Hines, return to the Lander University campus to discuss screenwriting and production for their upcoming film Long Shadows.
Reid, of Abbeville, is known for his role as “Cracker,” playing opposite Rick Schroder in the CBS television movie, “Too Young The Hero” (1988). Reid’s filmography also includes appearances in “Love Field” (1990), “The Almost Perfect Bank Robbery” (1997), “Radio” (2003) and “Dear John” (2011). Reid has won multiple awards for his screenplays.
Hines, a native of Greenwood, has over a hundred credits to his name, including Mr. Arthur in "The Gal Who Got Rattled," in Joel and Ethan Coen's anthology Western film, "The Ballad of Buster Scruggs." He also played Gideon Welles, the Secretary of the Navy in Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln."
