Rep. Neal Collins (District 5, Pickens County), standing, speaks of the power of civic involvement, and encourages Lander University students to seek out ways to serve their communities.

His visit, organized and sponsored by Lander's chapter of the American Democracy Project and the Political Science Association (PSA), was in celebration of Constitution Day, Tuesday, Sept. 18.

The day of recognition is held annually to honor the adoption of the U.S. Constitution, and to encourage students to learn more about the founding document.

Furthering their effort for civic involvement, the PSA will conduct a voter registration drive on the Lander campus from Friday, Sept. 28-Tuesday, Oct. 1.
