Community Invited to Free Concerts and Art Shows at Lander University

Lander University invites the community to visit campus and enjoy free concerts and artistic exhibits that showcase the talents of students and guest artists from across the country and abroad.

The 2018-19 Performing & Fine Arts season opens on Sept. 27 with a concert by "The Dominican Jazz Project" beginning at 8 p.m. in the Abney Cultural Center Auditorium. This Grammy Award-winning group is sure to wow the audience with their creative energy and masterful performances on a variety of musical instruments.

The Department of Music also presents performances by the Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, University Singers, a Chamber Strings concert, solo vocalists, faculty performances, and piano concerts.

Lander's Visual Art Department has several exhibits scheduled in the Monsanto Art Gallery; and the Department of Mass Communications and Media Studies presents their annual film festival in the spring.

Visit Lander's website at www.lander.edu for a complete list of events and make plans to join us for a musical and artistic adventure. All events are open to the public, free to attend, and FALS approved for Lander students.
