Lander Announces Fine Arts Series 2017-18

Lander University announces its 2017-18 Fine Arts Series showcasing a broad spectrum of performances by the Department of Music.

The fall season opens on September 19 featuring Dr. Robert Gardiner on saxophone in a faculty recital; Wind Ensemble concerts on October 17 and November 28; Emerging Keyboard Artist Recital on November 9; a choral performance by the University Singers and Old Main Singers on November 16; Jazz Ensemble on November 30; and concludes with a Chamber Strings concert on December 1.

The season also highlights the talents of senior music majors Brittany Gionakis, of Catawba; and Bryan Keefe, of Fort Mill. Gionakis performs on flute during her senior music recital on October 19. Keefe will play the saxophone and vocal performances during his October 25 senior recital.

All fall performances begin at 8 p.m. in the Abney Cultural Center Auditorium. Events are free and open to the public. Programs are approved for Lander students seeking FALS-credit.
