Transfer Week Coming to Lander

Transfer Week is coming to Lander University April 17-21.

The event, offered every fall and spring semester since 2009, enables transferring students to apply for admission, receive on-the-spot acceptance, be advised and register for classes all in one day. Transfer students can also speak with a financial aid staff member and take a campus tour.

Sydney Crawford, associate director for the Office of Admissions, said that 66 students participated in Transfer Week last spring, and she expects "at least that many" to take part in the event this semester.

While transferring students are welcome to visit the Office of Admissions anytime between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., they are encouraged to register ahead of time. "That way, we can ensure that an admissions representative will be available when the student arrives," Crawford said.

Another advantage of registering, in the case of students who have already applied and submitted transcripts, is that their advisement appointment can be set up before they get to campus.

Crawford said "it is imperative that the student bring copies of all transcripts to their appointment" if the admissions office hasn't already received them.

Students can register by going to www.lander.edu, then clicking the "Transfer Week" link on the homepage, or by contacting the Office of Admissions at 864-388-8307.
