Twenty-three Lander students and one alum became official members of an international honor society during a formal induction ceremony held by Lander University's chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma. Hosted by the university's College of Business on March 20, the induction recognized undergraduates who are among the top 10% of their class.
A leading banker in the Greenwood community, David Tompkins, was welcomed into the chapter as the first alumnus inducted. Tompkins, a 1996 graduate of Lander's business program, challenged the student inductees to make a difference in the world. He supports his alma mater by holding mock interviews with graduating seniors and offering consultations in the financial services courses.
Inductees are Daniel Allwurden, Charles Baron, Shelby Billingsley, Caitlyn Brewer, Jacob Bryant, Carey Chandler, Esgar Diaz, Cora Foshee, Eirik Groner, Haley Histon, Alexis Holloman, Robertson Hoyt, Autumn Hurley, Cody Jordan, Christian Lee, Hannah Leister, Hongxi Lu, Peyton Mennetti, Rebecca Strickland, Aralyn Townsend, Nicolas Weaver, Davin Wilkerson and Le Zhang.
