Honors College Poster Session winner Steven McMahan, of Donalds, discusses his prize-winning poster, "Rape Myths: How Society Views Rape through the Acceptance of Rape Myths," with Dr. Lisa A. Wiecki, director of library services at Lander. Wiecki served as judge of the event, one of nine included as part of this year's Student Academic Showcase.

The 2014 edition of Lander University's Student Academic Showcase was "the best yet," according to Associate Professor of English and Honors College Director Dr. Lillian Craton, who co-chaired the event.

"The quality of the work was astounding," said Craton. "I'm so happy to see such advanced research and creativity from our student body."

The event exists to reward students for academic excellence and to inspire them to pursue higher levels of engagement in their chosen disciplines. It features creative compositions in studio arts and performances in fine arts, as well as scholarly presentations, posters and research papers.
