Eleven names will be added to the growing list of Lander University students who are accepted into the university's Study Abroad program. Dr. DeWitt Stone Jr., director of the program, said more than 100 Lander students have enrolled in a college or university abroad for a semester or a summer study term since he became director in 2005.

Lander University graduate Lt. Col. Warren Bacote was honored at a change of command ceremony on June 12 at Fort Devens, Mass., where he served as garrison commander for nearly five years. He has been reassigned to the Air War College (AWC) at Maxwell A.F.B., in Montgomery, Ala., where he will be one of 26 U.S. Army representatives in the college's class of 2013.

Tuition at Lander University will increase by 3.15 percent for the 2012-2013 academic year. The increase, which is smaller than last year's 3.95 percent tuition hike, includes a $100 increase in fees which Lander's Board of Trustees approved last December for debt service on university construction and renovation projects.
