Alumni can get connected to classmates by visiting the Office of Alumni Affairs for a list of activities.

Lander Throwback Mashup is “Lander through the decades.” This is a time to celebrate the throwback moments throughout the years. Whether you decide to form a team to compete, or simply observe the happenings, it's a great time to be a Bearcat! Activities listed below are open to students/faculty/staff. Everyone is invited to come out to watch these lively competitions & cheer them on in their quest to win points!



Monday, February 17

Medallion Hunt Begins

One medallion will be hidden on campus or in the Greenwood city limits each day. Clues to where the medallion is hidden will be released on @lander_student_activities Instagram at 12:00 p.m. each day.

Banner Competition
Abney Cultural Center Commons – 5:00 p.m.

Teams will show their Lander pride by promoting the homecoming game with creative banners to cheer the Bearcats on to victory.

Paint Lander Blue!
Begins at 5:30 p.m., Completed by 11:00 p.m​.

Students can Paint Lander Blue ​by decorating a department door or window on campus to reflect the homecoming theme and Lander spirit.​

Tuesday, February 18

A Groovy Study Break
Student Center – 12:00-2:00 p.m. 

We know its midterms and you need a break. Stop by and take a brain break participate in trivia, card games, or board games. Along with some snacks for energy.

The Throwback Showcase
Finis Horne Arena – 9:00 p.m.

Come see the talent that abounds at Lander!


Wednesday, February 19

The Slammin’ Mid-Day Party
Dining Hall - 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Come out and listen to the DJ and keep the vibes rollin’ for homecoming week. Grab your fried chicken as we go back through the ages with some classic hits.

Spirit Night Competition
Finis Horne Arena - Women’s Game @ 5:30 p.m., Men’s Game @ 7:30 p.m.

Who has the most spirit? Come cheer on the Lander Bearcats against Flagler and show us!


Thursday, February 20

Bearcat Blast
PEES Gym - 4:00 p.m.

Groups will participate in a number of field day/yard games from the past such as the three-legged race, dizzy bat, tug of war and many others.

Strongest Bearcat
Abney Cultural Center Auditorium - 7:00 p.m.

Come out and support your fellow Bearcats during the “Strongest Bearcat” Powerlifting Competition. The meet will allow each participant three attempts at the Squat, Bench Press, and Deadlift combined. Join us as we determine the strongest male and female Bearcat.

Friday, February 21

Chandler Soap Box Race & Parade
PEES Circle – Car judging and parade – 4:00 p.m. 
Willson Street – Race – 4:30 p.m.

Watch as teams race to victory in soap box entries guaranteed to amaze. Cars will line up around the PEES Circle for judging before moving to the top of Willson Street for the race.

Front Lawn, 5:00-8:00 p.m.

Get hyped up in preparation for tomorrow's Homecoming basketball games.


Saturday, February 22

CC Lawn - 11:00 a.m.
