Lander Students and Alumni Enjoy Homecoming Week 2020

From enjoying a cozy bonfire and cheering on soapbox car racers, to crowning their Homecoming King and Queen and reconnecting with college pals, Lander University students and alumni converged on the Greenwood campus to celebrate their alma matter during Homecoming Week.

The week-long event was held Feb. 17-22. While the annual alumni golf outing was cancelled because of bad weather, there was a host of other friendly competitive events. Group winners include:

  • Banner: Zeta Tau Alpha and LU History Club
  • Paint LU Blue: Zeta Tau Alpha and Leputation
  • Homecoming King: Miles Garcia McInerney, of Landrum
  • Homecoming Queen: Madison Elaine Copeland, of Bishopville
  • Spirit Night: Phi Mu and Chi Sigma
  • The Final Countdown: Phi Mu and Chi Sigma
  • Soapbox Decoration and Parade: Phi Mu and Delta Sigma
  • Soapbox Race: Chi Sigma
  • Bearcat Blast: Delta Sigma

Phi Mu and Delta Sigma were also named Best Overall Winners.
