Senior mass communications major Santos Pagán, of North Augusta, and senior political science major Courtney Cannon, of Mauldin, were named Lander University's Homecoming King and Queen on Saturday, February 9. The pair were crowned during the halftimes of the men's and women's basketball games in Finis Horne Arena on the Lander campus.

Pagán and Cannon were chosen by their fellow students amid a week-long celebration that included activities for students and alumni, and competitions between student organizations. First runner-ups were senior music education major Absalon Richardson, of Anderson, and senior business-healthcare management major Brianna Schmieding, of Saluda.

"We're extremely proud of Santos and Courtney, and of all our students who participated in Homecoming Week," said Mike Rapay, director of Student Activities at Lander. "In each activity, competition and event, they have truly embodied the Bearcat spirit."
