Dr. Boyd Yarbrough has been named the new vice president for Student Affairs at Lander University. He will officially begin his duties on August 1. Lander conducted a national search to fill the position when it was announced that Randy Bouknight, who served in the role since 1979, would transition into the role of special assistant to Lander President Richard Cosentino.
"I'm thrilled to welcome Dr. Yarbrough to our university and the Greenwood community," said President Cosentino. "During our national search, he clearly distinguished himself with a focus on student success by being an engaged leader and providing direction to others while leading by example."
A native of Atlanta, Dr. Yarbrough's experience is a blend of multiple aspects of the higher education sector, including student life, administration, career services, community relations, housing and residence life, dining services and public safety. He most recently served as vice president of Student Affairs at Cleveland State University in Ohio since 2013. Before that, he served in a multitude of leadership roles at Furman University over 14 years, including serving as special assistant to the president for Strategic Planning, assistant vice president for Administrative Services and director of University Housing.
