Approval of the operating budget for the 2017-18 fiscal year and election of board officers were among recent actions taken by the Lander University Board of Trustees this week.
During a regularly scheduled meeting on June 13, the Finance and Facilities Committee proposed what was described as a conservative, financially responsible budget to board members for consideration. Board members moved to accept the new budget, which includes operating expenses, tuition and fees for the upcoming academic year. Details are available on the university's website at www.Lander.edu.
The board also voted on officers during the midday meeting, resulting in Dr. Linda Dolny named as the new Chair of the Board of Trustees; Cary Corbitt, Vice-Chair and Catherine Lee Frederick, Secretary.
Dolny will succeed previous chair Jack Lawrence who was honored for his years of service, Lawrence was presented with a handcrafted, hardwood chair engraved with the university's official seal.
