Lander Gains Reaccreditation

Lander University has been reaccredited for 10 years by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).

The reaffirmation of accreditation concludes a rigorous review of the university that began with the submission of an initial report to SACSCOC in September 2016. It means that Lander meets approximately 90 SACSCOC requirements.

Lander Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Suzanne Ozment said that reaccreditation "is a stamp of quality, something that people can rely on to give them some confidence that they're going to an institution with well-qualified faculty and staff, where students are held to standards that will mean that their diplomas are worth something."

Ozment praised the faculty and staff members who worked to maintain Lander's designation as one of 795 accredited members of SACSCOC. "We had a lot of hard-working folks really throwing themselves into this. We're pleased by the outcome," she said.
