South Carolina Governor's School to Perform at Lander Oct. 11

Talented high school students from across the state will perform on stage Tuesday, October 11, at Lander University. Presented by the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities (SCGSAH), the woodwinds and piano concert is part of the 2016 Share the Music Tour.

Wind ensemble selections include "L'inglesine," by Delle Cese; "La Boutique Fantasque," by Rossini; and "Elegy for a Young American," by Lo Presti. Piano ensembles represent the piano studio at SCGSAH, presenting several compositions from the standard repertoire for piano, four-hands.

The South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities is a public residential high school located in Greenville, South Carolina. The school provides unique arts and academic education for emerging artists statewide, including music, dance, drama, creative writing and visual arts. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Josephine B. Abney Cultural Center Auditorium. Admission is free and open to the public. The event is FALS-approved for Lander students.
