Students and faculty in Lander University's School of Management recently attended a program in Columbia to learn more about careers in banking.

Nineteen students in Lander University's School of Management recently attended Banking 101, an educational program held in Columbia, designed to share information with students interested in careers in banking, finance and accounting.

Assistant professor of economics Lili Chen said the students heard from experts who specialize in different fields of banking. She described the program as a career fair-like event that was divided into five sessions, including management training, investments, private banking, marketing, human resources and more. Students were given opportunities to interact with the banking representatives and to ask questions.

Three faculty members accompanied the students to the annual program, which is coordinated by the South Carolina Bankers Association's Young Banker's Division.
