Lander University Board of Trustees Announces Rise in Tuition

During its June 17, 2015 meeting, the Lander University Board of Trustees approved a 3.2% increase in tuition and fees. The costs for full-time in-state students will increase from $10,418 to $10,752 per year and full-time out-of-state student tuition from $19,738 to $20,370.

"The decision to raise tuition at Lander University is one based upon a thorough analysis on inflationary increases that affect practically all aspects of our budget, " said Board Chairman Jack Lawrence, adding that the increase will keep the university in line with comparable institutions.

"It will meet the (tuition) requirements set forth by the State Legislature, as well as meet the operating needs of the institution," Lawrence continued. "We're very sensitive to the issues of costs faced by our students and their families, and I believe that when one looks at the overall picture of our budget, it becomes obvious that this increase is a most conservative one."
