Lander Organizes Toastmasters Club

Toastmasters International has approved Lander's application to establish a campus Toastmasters Club whose membership would be open to students, faculty and staff. Toastmasters requires that each club have at least 20 members to receive a charter and club number.

An organizational meeting of the Lander Toastmasters will be held on Friday, March 19, at 12:45 p.m. in the Carnell Learning Center, Room LC 276, and new member kits will be available at that time. Individual applications must be accompanied by a one-time $20.00 new member fee, and six-month international dues of $27.00 for a total of $47.00, which may be paid by check or credit card.

Those unable to attend the meeting can obtain a new member kit in the Office of University Relations and Publications in the Carnell Learning Center, Room LC 109. Applications with payment of the new member fee and dues must be returned by March 12.

University President Dr. Daniel Ball said, "This will be a great opportunity for the Lander Family to broaden its communication skills through use of the "tools of Toastmasters."
