Welcome to Bearcat Country! All freshmen students are required to attend Freshman Student Orientation.

What is Freshman Orientation?

Freshman Orientation is a 2-day/1-night program that will show you the ropes here at Lander University. From getting involved on campus to tips on how to make A's during your first semester, Freshman Orientation will cover it all!

As part of the program, you will be placed in an orientation group to be led by a current Lander student. Your orientation leader is here to answer any and all questions about Lander. You will be introduced to your fellow classmates at several organized socials on campus.

Parent Orientation

Parent Orientation at Lander University is designed to answer questions for parents of new students. Though we refer to this program as ‘Parent Orientation’, we welcome family members and guardians of all!  This one-day program is full of guardian-only sessions. While your Freshman is learning how to be successful during the college years, we aim to answer your questions, too. From Financial Aid to Academic Advising, staff on the Lander campus look forward to sharing helpful information with you. The check-in process begins at 8am on day one. You will receive a complete schedule of the day when you arrive at check-in. Enjoy lunch with faculty and deans as part of your registration. Parent Orientation concludes at 4pm. Should you desire to spend the night in town following Parent Orientation, here are some of Greenwood’s hotels.
