students at Berlin WallFirst Steps Toward Study Abroad

The Office of Study Abroad is pleased to help you begin learning about programs, considering your academics, and applying for an unforgettable study abroad experience. The following steps outline this process and provide guidelines for researching and finding the best program for your specific personal and academic goals.

Before going any farther, however, make sure your passport is ready.

  • Do you have a passport?
  • Will your passport still be valid (that is, not expired) six months after you return home from your study abroad program?

If your answer to either of these questions is “No,” apply for or renew your passport now.

Deadlines for Lander applications:

  • Summer/Fall semester programs: February 15
  • Spring semester programs: September 15
  • Spring Break and Summer Study Tours: November 15

Applications may be accepted after the deadline as spaces remain. It is each student’s responsibility to follow up with program facilitators to confirm deadlines. Space may be limited on certain programs, so it is important to turn in application materials as early as possible.
